The Pac-12 is back on ESPN — sort of — and that’s a bigger deal than it sounds
CW Network-ESPN streaming agreement puts all Pac-12 football and basketball on the ESPN App starting summer 2026

The new Pac-12 hasn’t played a snap with its full nine-team roster. But it’s already back on ESPN.
The CW Network and ESPN announced a groundbreaking agreement that will make the ESPN App the exclusive streaming home for all CW Sports live events — including Pac-12 football and men’s and women’s basketball through the 2030-31 season. The deal, expected to launch this summer, brings more than 800 hours of premium live sports to ESPN Unlimited subscribers.
For a conference rebuilding from the rubble of realignment, the timing is everything.

The practical impact: Every CW-televised Pac-12 game — 13 regular season football games per year, plus men’s and women’s basketball including the women’s tournament semifinals and championship — will be available on the ESPN App for subscribers with an ESPN Unlimited plan. Games will still air live on the CW Network’s free over-the-air broadcast. The streaming deal adds a second screen, not a paywall.
That means Pac-12 After Dark, the beloved (and sometimes cursed) late-night window that defined the old conference, will now live inside the same app as SEC Saturday and Big Ten primetime. Not a bad neighborhood for a league that some declared dead two years ago.
It also means replays. ESPN Unlimited subscribers get on-demand archives — a feature the Pac-12 Daily podcast flagged as potentially the most valuable piece of the deal for fans who travel, work late or simply can’t stay up for an 8:30 p.m. PT kickoff.

Pac-12 Daily hosts called the agreement "a home run" and noted the ESPN relationship — even indirectly through the CW — puts the conference back in the same ecosystem as the SEC and ACC. "With ESPN, they have deals with the SEC. They have deals with the ACC. Now they have a deal with the Pac-12," one host said. "This is a huge win on the table for a new conference that is trying to reinvent themselves."
Beyond the Pac-12
The deal is bigger than one conference. CW Sports programming also includes college football and basketball from the ACC and Mountain West, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, WWE NXT, PBA bowling, PBR bull riding, AVP beach volleyball and the Arizona Bowl.
CW Sports has rapidly become a legitimate player in the broadcast sports landscape since launching in 2023, recently earning a finalist nomination for the Sports Business Awards 2026 Breakthrough of the Year. NASCAR viewership on the CW is up 22 percent over last year’s season average, with each of the first 10 races in 2026 drawing more than one million total viewers.
“Joining forces with ESPN is a monumental next step in the evolution of CW Sports,” said Brad Schwartz, president of the CW Network. “This agreement extends the reach of CW Sports and enables us to capture audiences across the best of broadcast and the best of streaming, ensuring fans can access live CW Sports wherever they are and on whatever device they prefer.”
“Bringing CW Sports to the ESPN App is another step in delivering more value, choice and flexibility for fans, expanding the range of live sports available within our streaming ecosystem,” said Rosalyn Durant, executive vice president of ESPN programming and acquisitions. “This agreement gives fans even more live sports to watch year-round within the ESPN Unlimited plan, while extending the reach of CW Sports to new audiences.”
How to watch
All CW Sports events — including Pac-12 games — will continue to air live on the CW Network via free over-the-air broadcast. Streaming on the ESPN App requires an ESPN Unlimited subscription plan. Subscribers to the Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Bundle can also access CW Sports content through Disney+.
The CW-ESPN streaming integration is expected to launch in summer 2026 — just in time for the new Pac-12’s first football season with its full nine-team membership.
