The number
8 — Eight commits, ranked No. 123 nationally and No. 11 in the Sun Belt. The class averages 2.93 stars with a 52.7 average Profile grade and a 0.545 average PRO score. Old Dominion posted a 10-3 record in 2025 — the best in the program's FBS history — and won the Cure Bowl. Ricky Rahne turned Norfolk into a destination. The 2027 class is smaller and targeted, with three of eight commits from Virginia.

Brody Craig (6-5, 270, Sequoyah, Canton, Ga.) is the highest-graded commit in the class at 67.01 with 22 offers — the most in the class and a 0.816 PRO score. Robert Payne (6-5, 315, Liberty Christian, Lynchburg, Va.) is the second interior lineman at 54.08 with 13 offers. Two offensive linemen in an eight-man class is a statement about where Rahne sees the roster need.
Kellen Hall (6-1, 150, Oak Grove, Hattiesburg, Miss.) is the class's quarterback with a 62.38 Profile grade, 15 offers and a 0.703 PRO score. At 150 pounds, Hall is a developmental prospect who will need to add weight before he is ready to compete for playing time.
The defensive side has four commits. AJ Fry (6-1, 200, State College, Pa.) is a safety with 17 offers and a 54.75 Profile grade — the third-highest-graded commit. CJ Rissmiller (6-0, 195, Woodberry Forest, Va.) is the second safety. Baum Hogge (6-2, 210, Lafayette, Williamsburg, Va.) is a linebacker with 16 offers — among the highest offer counts in the class despite a 46.15 Profile grade. Kendrick Joseph Jr. (6-0, 180, St. James, La.) is a cornerback with two offers.
Miguel Davis (6-4, 235, Dundalk, Md.) is a tight end with nine offers and the frame to contribute as a blocker.
The Virginia pipeline is the foundation. Payne, Rissmiller and Hogge are all from the state. For a program that restarted football in 2009 and has spent most of its FBS existence competing for local recruits against Virginia Tech, Virginia and James Madison, that in-state presence matters.
