Diehard Sports Network today announced Doug Konkel as the network's first local publisher, bringing his established South Alabama fan community, Jags Jungle, under the Diehard banner as Jags Jungle, powered by Diehard Sports Network.
Over the last 18 years, since the inception of the South Alabama football program, Konkel has built a dedicated following of Jaguar fans through Jags Jungle, providing the kind of consistent, committed coverage that Jaguar fans have struggled to find from traditional media. As Diehard's first local publisher, he and his team will deliver regular and insightful stories, community content and insider analysis as part of a network built to serve Group of 6 fan bases across the country.
Jags Jungle was an affiliate of 247Sports.com for the past 14 years.

"Doug is exactly the kind of publisher we built this network for," said Tim Stephens, founder and CEO of Diehard Sports Network. "He's committed to South Alabama fans. He's been showing up for this community, and now he has the platform and infrastructure to do it at a level this program deserves. That's what Diehard is — we find the people who are already doing the work and give them everything they need to do it better."
"I am incredibly excited to be bringing Jags Jungle to the Diehard Sports Network," said Konkel. "Since 2008, our online community has been bounced around between multiple national networks as well as independent sites, but in Diehard Sports we have found a permanent home on a platform that truly appreciates G6 athletics and the fans of those programs. I look forward to not only growing the South Alabama community, but also seeing the growth of the network as it adds dedicated publishers to cover the other great programs that exist outside of the Power Four. We will even welcome Troy!"

Diehard Sports Network currently covers four Alabama programs — South Alabama, UAB, Jacksonville State and Troy — as well as G6 national topics and news. The network intends to expand to 60-plus Group of 6 and FCS communities nationally. Diehard combines experienced local publishers with a proprietary editorial operations system to deliver coverage, community and credibility to underserved fan bases.
Members of the existing Jags Jungle community can join Diehard Sports Network at no cost, with free access to articles, newsletters and community discussion boards. VIP Premium memberships ($10/month or $100/year) provide insider content, a private community and direct access to your school's publisher. A limited number of Starting 22 Elite Founding Memberships are also available for each school.
